I had been consistently updated my website with the news that matter most to investors. At the closing of the first half of 2024, what other important news that we need to bring along with us in the second half of 2024... I picked 3 below that still hot from oven last week :



Uncertainties arised from the U.S. Presidential Debate; Trump seem to give weights on the elections Joe Biden's disastrous debate blamed on bad preparation, exhaustion [link]


Remark: If Biden needs to drop out from the elecction due to health issue, the potential nominee within Democrats to replace him, may not receive the same amount of supports for Biden to compete with Trump. And this will bring a lot of uncertainties to the stock markets.


In fact, the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) rules Trump has broad immunity from prosecution, had suddenly given a twist to the situation, and investors need to be careful



Rail Freight From China to Europe

Looking the map below, I believe many fellow investors will able to spot instantly the threats of this newly launched rail freight in green, is directly competing with the exisitng sea route that bypassing Singapore. This is not something to be ignored, but China's Belt and Road Initiative will surely change the geographical advantage in ASEAN as well as Red Sea.






U.S. Bank stress test


The 2024 stress test last week shows that the 31 large U.S. banks subject to the test this year have sufficient capital to absorb nearly $685 billion in losses and continue lending to households and busi- nesses under stressful conditions. Federal Reserve says all 31 banks in annual stress test withstood a severe hypothetical downturn [link]
